Making waves with the BBC!

We recently hit the pool with BBC Wales and some wonderful families, testing out the awesome paddle boards built by our Innovation Centre and our colleagues at the University of Wales Trinity St David. The children had so much fun and so did our product designers!

Head over to our social media pages over the next couple of days for updates

Sleep and children with rare genetic conditions

Our colleagues at Cardiff University have investigated sleep and mental health in over 600 children with a rare neurodevelopmental genetic condition. This is one of the largest studies of its kind to investigate sleep in detail in children with rare genetic conditions.

Findings showed that over 40% of children experienced insomnia, and for many children they had been experiencing sleep issues since a very young age. Also, sleep problems had a range of impacts on psychosocial functioning at home, at school and with friends, and the presence of sleep problems indexed greater likelihood of mental health conditions.
