CIPSAC Mini Workshop: Understanding Stimulation & Avoidance at Bedtime
Wednesday 26th November - 12:00-1:00pm
This free lunchtime webinar is for professionals with an interest in our Sleep Training.
Children with additional needs often struggle to fall asleep or stay asleep. Families tell us they see:
- Reliance on stimulation (e.g. screens, repetitive play, or movement)
- Avoidance of bedtime routines
- Exhaustion that impacts learning, health, and behaviour
But behind every behaviour is a reason. In this free taster session we’ll explore:
- Why children with disabilities may depend on stimulation or avoidance at bedtime
- What these behaviours communicate about their needs
- How to work with families to make supportive, achievable changes
- How our accredited Cerebra Sleep Consultant training builds these skills further
Supporting siblings and the sibling relationship when a child is autistic or has a learning disability
Thursday 27th November - 12:30-2:00pm
This free lunchtime webinar is for parents, carers and professionals that support families.
The sibling relationship is often an important one. When you have more than one child, you may spend time encouraging positive sibling relationships and supporting siblings and their relationships. This may require additional understanding when a child in the family is autistic or has a learning disability.
Dr Louise Rixon and Julie Tattersfield will draw on research findings and personal experiences to discuss the sibling relationship when one child is autistic or has a learning disability and what we can do to support siblings and their relationships.
Useful sources of support for siblings, parents and carers will be shared.
