Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans can be the difference between a child thriving in school and being unable to attend at all. Recent reports suggest that EHCPs may be at threat in upcoming Government education reforms.
Hannah is a 19-year old disabled and autistic woman, and receiving an EHCP changed her life. Now she’s worried others will miss out on this support. She’s joined forces with Disabled Children Partnership, which Cerebra is a member of, to call on Keir Starmer to save EHCPs.
Hannah has written an open letter to Keir Starmer and she’s asking for your support. Her letter to the Prime Minister is crystal clear – what she wants is what any other child wants from their education.
“I’m writing to you on behalf of everyone who has ever needed an EHC plan. We’re not asking for anything ‘special’. We just want the ordinary things all children want – to be able to go to school, to be able to attend lessons and learn, to have fun and to be able feel excited for our futures.
Please, Prime Minister, don’t take this away from us.”
