Selection of books on Down syndrome, autism, ADHD and neurodiversity

“My son is a four-year-old non-verbal child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and challenges related to restricted eating. As he grows older, his limited communication abilities are becoming increasingly frustrating for him, and we’re committed to supporting and developing his communication in every way possible. Cerebra’s Library Service has been an invaluable resource for our family in this regard.

Navigating the complexities of raising a child with additional needs has felt overwhelming, and accessing specialised resources is often both difficult and expensive. Your online library has been a true lifeline, providing access to books specifically tailored to understanding ASD, supporting communication, and developing strategies for children with unique needs.

As a parent constantly waiting for professional support, the ability to be proactive in my research and learning has been incredibly empowering. It not only provides practical strategies for helping Idris but also gives me a sense of ‘doing something’ in the face of often lengthy wait times for appointments and assessments.

The convenience of having these specialised books delivered directly to my home, free of charge, is remarkable. My local library simply doesn’t have the capacity to stock the targeted, in-depth resources that Cerebra provides. These books have deepened my understanding of my son’s experiences and needs, while also significantly boosting my confidence as a parent.

Each book I’ve borrowed has been a step towards creating a more supportive and understanding environment for my son. The knowledge I’ve gained has allowed me to approach his development with greater insight, patience, and hope.

Thank you for providing such a vital service that makes a real difference in the lives of families like ours”.
