Our librarian, Jan, tells us a bit about the newest sensory toys in our postal lending library.

A collection of sensory items for use at bedtime, including lights and plushy sloth

We’ve just added some exciting new toys, and a communication aid, to our lending library. If you have a child aged 16 or under with a brain related condition then you can borrow toys from our sensory library for a month at a time, free of charge.

Here’s what we’ve added:

A selection of sensory resources to help you create a calm environment for your child to wind-down and relax. Includes a soft light & sounds nightlight; a 360-degree colour lamp; sensory stones; Warmie sloth; soft long cat; essential oil diffuser and a wind-down activities book with a wealth of wind-down ideas. (Some chargeable mains electric items.)

Switch Adapted Glitter Waterball

The Switch Adapted Glitter Waterball is a dazzling and engaging sensory resource that combines calming colour-changing LED lights with floating, hexagon-shaped glitter for a mesmerising visual experience.  Designed for inclusive play, press the switch to activate.
