Georgia Vine’s book, Occupational Therapy Disability Activism and Me, is a genuine, no holds barred look at growing up as a disabled person in the UK today from someone with drive and enthusiasm coming up against an ableist world time after time.
Georgia writes the blog, ‘Not So Terrible Palsy’ and, in her book, shares her life and experiences from her early life to her time under Children’s Services, and the difficulties of moving into adult services to her experiences at university. She graduated as an Occupational Therapist in 2021 and has become a disability campaigner looking to challenge the ableist bias of our society. Full of information for families and practitioners, this is an inspiring book.
This book and many others, on a range of topics, are available to borrow from our lending library.
