Celebrating 20 Years of Cerebra’s Sleep Service and Innovation Centre

15 December 2025

On 4th December we celebrated an incredible 20 years of our amazing Sleep Service and Innovation Centre.

20 yr celebration team

We are incredibly proud of all that our Sleep and Innovation teams have achieved over the past 20 years, and celebrated in style earlier this month at the Royal Society, London. It was such a positivity-filled evening and a great way to look ahead at how we’re expanding both services so they can reach out and support even more families.

Guests had the chance to explore some of the products that our Innovation team have created and meet our team of exceptional Sleep professionals, before hearing from the brilliant Francesca Martinez, alongside talks from a mixture of Cerebra leaders and service users, including Imogen Ashwell-Lewis.

Cerebra’s Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Comms, Max said:

“It was simply wonderful to see so many people in the room. We had so many brilliant conversations about what the Sleep and Innovation teams have achieved over the last 20 years, our plans for the next 20, and how we could work in partnership with our friends to make our vision a reality. That’s a vision of doubling our impact over the next two years and seeking to reach as many of the 500,000 children living with neurological conditions in the UK. If you couldn’t attend, but could help us in the next chapter of our journey, please get in touch and we can have a coffee.”

Dani from Motability said:

“From start to finish, the enthusiasm and sheer pride in the room was unmistakable. The work this organisation does for children with brain conditions is nothing short of remarkable. Hearing directly from parents and children about the impact of Cerebra’s support, from sleep services to bespoke product design that enabled a young girl to take part in a triathlon safely (and very energetically!) was truly inspiring. I also had the chance to see some of the innovative products funded through their Motability Foundation grant, including 3D-printed walking sticks designed specifically for children. I knew 3D printing was impressive, but I was blown away by the thoughtfulness of the design and how unbelievably lightweight they were. An incredible example of innovation with real purpose.”

Thank you to everyone who joined our celebration and committed to helping us make the next 20 years even brighter!
