Better Sleep, Calmer Days

Alexandra describes the impact Cerebra’s Sleep Service had on her daughter’s sleep and the calm it brought back into family life.

Three year old Ayla is full of joy. She loves ducks, water, singing, jumping, the park — and ice cream. But Ayla’s autism also brings challenges that affect everyday life. Loud noises and crowded places can be overwhelming, she struggles to communicate her needs, and she has no danger awareness. Sleep has always been one of the biggest difficulties.

Life Before Support

Ayla often slept for only three or four hours at a time, waking at any point during the night. The impact on family life was huge. Alexandra told us they weren’t able to have family dinners, invite friends over, or spend the time they wanted with their other child. Nights were exhausting, and days were harder because of it.

Reaching Out for Help

Alexandra found Cerebra through early years intervention and contacted our Sleep Service. She also used our Parent Guides & Factsheets to understand more about Ayla’s needs.

She received personalised advice from our Sleep Practioner — gentle, practical guidance tailored to Ayla’s sleep pattern and sensory needs.

What Changed

With a consistent routine and small adjustments based on the sleep coach’s advice, Ayla began sleeping better at night. Alexandra told us:
“Mom is more rested, so the household is more calm.”

Better sleep for Ayla meant better sleep for everyone. More rest. More patience. More space for family life,

Even small improvements in sleep can transform daily life for families of children with brain conditions. Our Sleep Service is here to offer understanding, practical advice and support — free of charge — whenever families need it.
