We’re proud to share Cerebra’s Impact Report 2025, a reflection of the difference your support has made for children with brain conditions and their families over the past year. It’s a report shaped by real experiences — moments of challenge, moments of joy, and moments that show what’s possible when families are met with understanding, expertise and hope.
Families at the heart of our year
The report opens with the story of Mabli and Liwsi, two toddlers with rare genetic conditions whose families found connection at a time when everything felt overwhelming. Through our Parent Guides, Library Service, Sleep Advice and Innovation Centre, both girls now have the support and equipment they need to explore the world together.
We also revisit Imogen’s incredible journey — from climbing Pen y Fan to completing a triathlon and surfing the waves, supported by bespoke equipment designed by our Innovation Centre. In 2025, she stood on stage at the Royal Society to share her story with hundreds of supporters.
And through Relay Your Way, thousands of people ran, cycled, wheeled, paddled and danced 2,537km across the UK, raising over £60,000 and celebrating inclusion in every community along the route.
These stories remind us why our work matters — and what can happen when children are given the chance to shine.
Impact across our services
This year, more families than ever accessed our practical, evidence‑based support:
- 466 families received personalised sleep advice
- 387 families borrowed specialist books and sensory toys
- 30,844 downloads of our guides and factsheets
- 97 families received expert support from our Legal Rights Service.
Behind each number is a family navigating complex challenges — and finding strength, clarity and relief through our services.
Leading national conversations for change
2025 was also a year of significant advocacy.
Our landmark report on Systems Generated Trauma (SGT) revealed the profound harm caused when families seeking help are met with suspicion, blame and bureaucracy. More than 1,200 parents shaped the findings, sparking national debate and urgent calls for reform.
We also published major research into continence care, exposing widespread failures in provision for disabled children. We are now contributing to national guidance reviews across the UK.
These campaigns reflect our commitment not only to supporting families today, but to challenging the barriers that limit opportunities tomorrow.
A message from our CEO
In her introduction to the report, CEO Jess Camburn‑Rahmani reflects on a year of listening and learning — and the opportunities ahead:
“No child should have to fight for the opportunity to thrive. We will keep learning, growing and working towards a future where every child with a neurological condition is able to thrive, achieve their potential and feel fully included.”
Looking ahead
As we move into 2026, we’re investing further in our services, strengthening partnerships, refreshing our brand and creating new ways to reach families earlier and more effectively. The experiences of children, young people and families will continue to guide every decision we make.
