11 year-old Skylar is taking on a 125,000 steps challenge throughout May. Her Dad, Mark, told us all about why Skylar is taking up this incredible challenge.
“Skylar decided to embark on a personal fitness goal throughout May and thought it would be nice to help others along the way so started discussing a step challenge for charity with her mother and that’s how this all came about.
She could not decide initially which charity to pick as there are so many good causes out there to support. She went for Cerebra because I work for the charity so we’re aware of all the great work the charity does. She also wanted to support Kids Cancer Charity as her mam supports them. In the end, she opted to do the challenge in aid of both charities which we thought was great as she helps even more children this way!
She is happy that they are both children’s charities so she gets to help other kids who need it as she completes her challenge!
She will be doing 125k steps in May and we both have tons of fun activities lined up for her to help her reach her goal! We have also invested in a Fitbit to monitor her progress.
Her Cerebra fundraising is going great so far and she has hit her initial target in just a few days which we are all really proud of and it’s really helping her get motivated ahead of the challenge!”
We’re extremely grateful to Skylar for taking on this challenge for Cerebra and can’t wait to see her progress!
