England: Updated Guidance for Opening of Special Schools

01 December 2020

Classroom

The guidance for the full opening of special schools and other specialist settings was updated on 20 November. The update reflects that the temporary changes introduced by legislation earlier in the year have now ceased and covers the system of controls, residential settings, attendance, workforce, safeguarding, wraparound provision and extra-curricular activity, curriculum expectations, behaviour expectations and contingency planning for remote education. You can find the updated guidance here.

It is important to note that the government is making frequent amendments to the guidance it has issued since the start of the pandemic and we would strongly advise that if you need to refer to any guidance that you check you have the latest version from the GOV,UK website.
