Our son Mayson is two years old. Mayson had a bleed on the brain and as a result had a stroke. This has left him with brain damage, left hemiplegia, visually impairment, epilepsy, dystonia and muscle spasticity. He has no use of his left arm, but he is able to walk, albeit with a gait. Mayson’s life consists of constant hospital physio, occupational therapy and doctor’s appointments.
We asked for help because we are looking for anything that could possibly increase our son’s quality of life. Whether that’s something that could aid rehabilitation or just something that he can enjoy. So far, we have received two toys that have been adjusted for use with a giant switch, which allows our son to be able to use them without struggling. It’s allowed our son to play with toys like those that he normally would have before he became sick.
It also allowed us to see that options are available that will enable our son to play with toys he likes, without being limited in what he can do with them.
