Classroom

We are delighted to announce that we will be holding a pilot of our brand new Cerebra Professionals Sleep Training Course in January 2024.

This CPD-accredited training course will give you all the tools and learning needed to become a sleep consultant and to begin supporting children with additional needs and their families with their sleep.

This is a pilot course, with plans to run it out fully later on in 2024.

What does the course involve?

The course is divided into two parts – online and face-to-face:

Online:

  • The course will begin with required online sessions to give you the base learning. This will involve approximately 10 hours of active learning.
  • It includes five online assessments with accompanying support from Cerebra staff including personalised feedback and liaison.
  • You will receive an accompanying workbook with practical useable tools for your practice.
  • Once you have successfully completed the online training, you can then move on to the face-to-face training.

Face-to-Face:
The face-to face element will be held over three days and focuses on improving outcomes for children with additional needs.

This part of the training will cover current research recommendations, social work theory, some psychology and sociology as well as behaviour theory. This course will include parental support, assessment theories, and creating active workable support plans.

This course will develop your skills by focusing on psychology, relational approaches, behaviourism, specialist knowledge on genetic conditions, info bites from a multidisciplinary team of doctors and professors, follow-up support, and a full-rounded introduction to becoming a sleep consultant.

It will include a case study and an accompanying workbook to embed and consolidate all the learning

Who is the course suitable for?

This course is for anyone who has an interest in helping children with additional needs and their families with their sleep. For example, school nurses, health workers, family support workers, CAHMS and mental health teams, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, counsellors, nursery workers, nannies, maternity health workers and students.

How much does it cost?

A place on the pilot Professionals Sleep Training Course is £600.
As this is a pilot course, we are offering it at half price so that we can cover costs. All we ask is that you provide your feedback so that we can make improvements for the full roll out.

Over the three days your needs will be taken care of, you will have access to all refreshments and a healthy lunch on each day, also giving you some time to reflect and get to know the Cerebra Sleep Team and other delegates.

When is it being held?

(Please note these details have been updated recently.)

The pilot is being held at Priory Rooms, Birmingham on 23rd to 25th January 2024.
